Wild Goose Qigong Workshops with Dr. Bingkun Hu

Two very enjoyable and productive workshops on Wild Goose (Dayan) Qigong were given by my teacher Dr. Bingkun Hu during his yearly visit to the United Kingdom in August 2008. He has been coming to the UK every year now for four years and has a great desire that more people in the UK should know about the many health benefits that come from the practice of Wild Goose Qigong.

Wild Goose Qigong is a form of Medical Qigong which means that its sole purpose is to make us healthy and help us to live to a ripe old age. Dr. Bingkun Hu is a disciple of the late Grandmaster Yang Meijun. Yang Meijun was a great example to us all: she performed healing well into her nineties and lived until she was 106 years old.

Who doesn’t want a slim waistline or an impressive six-pack? Abdominal exercise, often called “ab exercise” is an important part of attaining it but not the only part.

Ab exercise is an important component in your overall workout routine. Everyone wants to have a lean, tight midsection. You may not care to have a “six-pack” but you still want to earn a whittled waistline. Many find earning that flat tummy is quite a challenge but with the right ab exercise, it can be accomplished.

It is important to remember that you need to incorporate aerobic activity into your workout if you want to burn fat. No ab exercise will actually get rid of extra weight in your midsection. Aerobic activity is the best approach for reducing your waistline.

The New Food Pyramid

Let’s explore how the new food pyramid can help us to organise a healthy diet.

Nowadays, many of us are so busy with all our commitments that it’s easy to forget about that we need a healthy diet to keep us going. Especially, with a family, each member may have a different schedule and getting everyone around the dining table together is not as common as it once was. How is your family? Do you feel guilty about your son or daughter grabbing a frozen snack for dinner?

The new food pyramid provides a handy way to make sure your family gets the nutrition they need, no matter the pace of life. It was brought out by the United States Department of Agriculture in 2005 and there is lots of information at their website http://www.mypyramid.gov/ . Let’s take a look at how easy it can be to ensure good nutrition.
