If you join a fitness center, will you make full use of it? This is the question on their mind when many people are considering joining. I’m sure many of you have joined one before and then never made full use of your membership.

The Excuses

Believe me, I know how easy it can be to put off getting in shape at a fitness center. After joining a fitness gym, I literally took a year to really start going regularly. I had joined Total Fitness because it was so affordable and so convenient. It was a short drive from the house I lived in, So there was no problem with going anytime I wanted to. I figured that I would go to fitness center all the time, lifting weights, running on the treadmill, and generally doing everything to get in shape. It did not turn out that way. For some reason, I was always finding and excuse not to go. Some days I was too tired, other times my back hurt, and other days I got home from work too late. Whatever the reason, I made it there maybe once a month for the first year.

The Inspiration

To tell you the truth, I never would have started attending the fitness club if I hadn’t run into an old friend. She used to be extremely heavy in high school. As a matter of fact, a lot of people used to make fun of her behind her back. She had a serious weight problem that has lasted all of her life. When I saw her, however, she was slim, fit, and self-confident like she had ever been before. I asked her about her secret, and she told me that it was simple. She had been going to fitness centers for the last year. She had lost something like 40 pounds, and turned a lot of the rest of her weight into muscle. She really motivated me to get in shape. I knew that if she could do it, I could do it too.

The Secret to Success

The secret to succeeding in fitness centers is to make sure to always have a workout partner. That way, come hell or high water, you can always drag each other to the gym. I recruited one of my friends and made him join my fitness gym. Together, we would go to fitness centers at least two times a week. Soon, it became three and then four. We were going all the time, and it was showing. I had better energy, more self-confidence, and I was starting to look really good.

Singles

If you are single, the fitness center can be a great place to meet new people. You never know - working out could be the start of a beautiful relationship.
